Increased Bonus for American Express Business Gold Rewards Card

American Express has temporarily increased the sign up bonus to 50,000 Membership Rewards for the Amex Business Gold Rewards card. This is only applicable for applications approved by July 30, 2014 and you must spend $5,000 in the first three months of card membership to get the bonus. The normal bonus for this card is 25,000 so doubling the offer is pretty sweet. This card has an annual fee of $175 but it is waived for the first year of card membership.

I have had this card before, but not in the last 12 months so I’m considering signing up in the next few weeks. We’re still working on meeting the minimum spend requirement for a couple of Ken’s recent card acquisitions, so I may hold off until the end of July, but this one is a great bonus considering what else is out there today. This card once came with a 75,000 Membership Rewards bonus, but in the past year or so, American Express has cut their bonuses considerably (although there are still some great targeted bonuses out there).

As a reminder, Membership Rewards can be transferred to the following airline programs:

• AeroMexico
• Aeroplan
• Air France/KLM
• Alitalia
• All Nippon
• Asia Miles
• British Airways
• Delta
• El Al
• Frontier
• Hawaiian
• Iberia
• Jet Blue
• Singapore
• Virgin America
• Virgin Atlantic

Keep in mind that occasionally transfer bonuses of up to 50% are offered which can increase the number of miles you receive in your airline account when transferring your Membership Rewards. I usually transfer my Membership Rewards to British Airways although I have transferred them to Singapore Airlines for our trip to Oahu last year and to All Nippon for our Dubai trip last October.

There are also hotel transfer partners of Membership Rewards, but none that I can recommend. All things considered, this is a great offer compared to what else is currently out there!
