Our United Arab Emirates Adventure Part V

Today was going to be a big day for daddy. He was finally heading off to the Yas Marina Circuit to watch the qualifying sessions before the big F1 race tomorrow.  The anticipation for this event has been building with lots of fans, officials, and perhaps even participants staying at our hotel. F1 has been everywhere for the past few days.

So, after a leisurely wake up, we headed down to the pool for some swim time together before Ken had to leave for the race. The kids again enjoyed the pool and walking along the beach finding “treasures.” Then it was off to the race. Several hours later he arrived after witnessing multiple accidents… You’d think they’d have the process down after doing this race in Abu Dhabi for several years now.

Meanwhile the kids and I had a leisurely day napping and swimming at the pool. Ainsley learned to go completely under the water and couldn’t get enough of it. In fact, she now jumps off the side of the pool and goes completely under. We’re still there to hold onto her but I think she’s really close to jumping off the side of the pool without any assistance.

We had dinner in the room when Ken arrived and then it was off to bed. The next day was more of the same. Pool in the morning, back to the room so Ken could head off, lunch and nap, then pooltime before dinner. I was a little worried that the kids would get a little bored doing the same thing two days in a row, but they loved it. It has been great for them to spend so much time in the pool. The hotel is fully sold out but the pool has been almost entirely empty. It has been wonderful! After dinner at Shakespeare & Co. the night of the race, it was off to bed early to rest up for our adventures the next morning.photo 2 copy 71395139_10200493566815728_773087957_n
